Garlic, Parmesan, & Chive Oven-Baked French Fries

I season mine in various ways to mix it up because WHEN IN ROME, ya know? I like garlic and parmesan, I like spicy fries, I like salt and pepper, and they are even good with a hint of salt or even plain. Whatever you choose, this is the go-to recipe for crispy fries that are BAKED to perfection.

There are various options you can choose from below. Who doesn’t love OPTIONS!

Interested in a chicken finger basket with these delicious fries? I would recommend them with my healthy “Kentucky” Fried Chicken recipe. I don’t think KFC is very good (and definitely not healthy) so I created my own recipe that is healthy and delicious! Try these fried and the chicken tenders for your own healthy version of a chicken finger basket…FOR THE WIN!

Once the fries are cooked. Add one of these flavor combinations to season your fries for a delicious change!

Parmesan and Garlic
·      1/3 cup parmesan
·      1 garlic clove, minced
·      Salt (to taste)
·      Pepper (to taste)

Fresh Herb Fries
·      3/4 tsp minced fresh basil
·      3/4 tsp minced fresh oregano
·      3/4 tsp minced fresh rosemary
·      1 garlic clove, minced
·      Salt (to taste)
·      Pepper (to taste)

Spicy Fries
·      1/2 tbsp chili powder
·      1/2 tsp ground cumin
·      1/2 tsp garlic powder
·      1 tsp onion powder
·      Salt (to taste)
·      Pepper (to taste)

DIRECTIONS

1.     Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.     Coat the baking sheet with cooking spray or parchment paper if you have it

3.     Peel potatoes (optional if you like the skins) and cut them or use a mandolin to slices that are 1/5 an inch wide (I used a mandolin slicer so if cutting, aim for something close to that size). See image below for reference.

4.     One sliced, soak in hot water for 20 minutes with at least an inch of water covering the potatoes. This is so they can bake to a crisp!

5.     Drain fries and dry them. Once dried, place in a bowl and add the oil, salt, and pepper.

6.     Bake fries for 25 minutes and turn them with a wooden spoon or kitchen tongs every 7-10 minutes so they cook evenly.

7.     Once they are baked, you can season them with salt and pepper or one of the flavor options listed above. If you would like a flavor, place in a bowl with a tablespoon of olive oil and add the seasonings of your choice!

8.     ENJOY!
